{Chloe's Barnyard Birthday}

On December 28, 2012, my daughter Chloe turned three! With her birthday being so close to Christmas and the new year, we decided to wait for warmer Arizona weather to throw her first birthday party with her friends! We decided on the Barnyard theme because Chloe LOVES and ADORES all animals. We originally were going to hire in a petting farm, but decided to go with the bounce house and a popcorn machine because kids of course love to bounce, and who doesn't love popcorn? It was a great decision, because it was a huge hit!

For the invitations, I designed a barn shaped design with western fonts. I included a my favorite photo of Chloe in her cowgirl boots. We tied the red paper around the invite with rafia for a final touch. She passed these out to friends at preschool and her family.

For the colors, we went with red and cow print. This was fun because I was able to mix in a lot of different things when shopping. Red cups, napkins, etc. were easy to find.

My mom, who is a "Martha" crafter, created a really cute tank top with cow fabric in the shape of the number "3" for the birthday girl to wear. Along with the tank, Chloe also wore a handmade red tutu by her grandma. She looked fabulous for her big day.

We ordered childrens sized tables, adult tables and a popcorn machine. We covered the tables with oilcloth and decorated them with bandanas and buckets that weighted the balloons.

We served up some homemade cupcakes with custom sugar animal toppers off of Etsy. We baked them in cow print and red cupcake liners also off of Etsy. They turned out adorable! They were also delicious!

For the lunch, I made my friend, Emily's famous recipe for Sloppy Joes, macaroni salad, a veggie tray and veggie straws. Simple and delicious.
I rented straw bales for decoration and bought used pallet boards for a backdrop. I printed some photos of Chloe in Sepia and hung them from clothespins. This table turned into the dessert table after we sang Happy Birthday.

We even made up some pig cake pops. The kids LOVED them. Thanks for the help with that, Jessica!
We had a cute lemonade and beverage " watering hole".The popcorn machine was a hit too!

Needless to say, the Birthday was a success... Chloe had a blast and I enjoyed putting it all together.

Happy Birthday to Chloe!
