{Chloe's Barnyard Birthday}

On December 28, 2012, my daughter Chloe turned three! With her birthday being so close to Christmas and the new year, we decided to wait for warmer Arizona weather to throw her first birthday party with her friends! We decided on the Barnyard theme because Chloe LOVES and ADORES all animals. We originally were going to hire in a petting farm, but decided to go with the bounce house and a popcorn machine because kids of course love to bounce, and who doesn't love popcorn? It was a great decision, because it was a huge hit!

For the invitations, I designed a barn shaped design with western fonts. I included a my favorite photo of Chloe in her cowgirl boots. We tied the red paper around the invite with rafia for a final touch. She passed these out to friends at preschool and her family.

For the colors, we went with red and cow print. This was fun because I was able to mix in a lot of different things when shopping. Red cups, napkins, etc. were easy to find.

My mom, who is a "Martha" crafter, created a really cute tank top with cow fabric in the shape of the number "3" for the birthday girl to wear. Along with the tank, Chloe also wore a handmade red tutu by her grandma. She looked fabulous for her big day.

We ordered childrens sized tables, adult tables and a popcorn machine. We covered the tables with oilcloth and decorated them with bandanas and buckets that weighted the balloons.

We served up some homemade cupcakes with custom sugar animal toppers off of Etsy. We baked them in cow print and red cupcake liners also off of Etsy. They turned out adorable! They were also delicious!

For the lunch, I made my friend, Emily's famous recipe for Sloppy Joes, macaroni salad, a veggie tray and veggie straws. Simple and delicious.
I rented straw bales for decoration and bought used pallet boards for a backdrop. I printed some photos of Chloe in Sepia and hung them from clothespins. This table turned into the dessert table after we sang Happy Birthday.

We even made up some pig cake pops. The kids LOVED them. Thanks for the help with that, Jessica!
We had a cute lemonade and beverage " watering hole".The popcorn machine was a hit too!

Needless to say, the Birthday was a success... Chloe had a blast and I enjoyed putting it all together.

Happy Birthday to Chloe!

{Sister Love} Playing Dress Up Before School

Hi everyone! Long time no posts. I have been working on some things around the house and have been busy with work. :) I wanted to share these photos with you that I took last week of my girls. We were all getting ready for school and I was downstairs packing lunches. I kept hearing banging noises and giggling coming from the upstairs playroom. I called out to see what was going on and my oldest said" nothing mom", so I continued packing lunches. All of a sudden, my two girls came downstairs and popped their heads in the kitchen. This is how they had dressed themselves for school. I could not stop laughing! I had a sister growing up and it was so much fun. I am so glad that they have so much fun together!!!

When will it be fall?

Fall is my favorite time of the year! I love the smell of the leaves and the crisp morning dew. Wait.. who am I kidding, it is still August and I live in Arizona. Oh man, it won't be fall until October.  I guess eating candy corn and drinking hot coffee in the morning will just have to do for now. :) Happy Saturday!

{Party Ideas} Build A Bear Party Tee-Shirts!

Party Time!
We were invited to my daughter's best friends birthday this past weekend. Kayla was the big birthday girl who was turning 5 years old. She wanted to have her birthday at Build-A-Bear. We were sooo excited to join the fun!  Kayla is such a lucky girl to also have a REALLY crafty parents and they had SUCH a cute idea for dressing your newly made friends. If you have not checked out the prices at Build-A-Bear for the adorable outfits yet... let me just tell ya... they are a pretty penny! This idea was just so cute and clever that I HAD to share it on my blog.

Okay, so after we had the fun party with building our fluffy friends we went over to the food court at the mall. My friend Kelli and her husband had pre-cut infant onsies into shirts for the guests to decorate! GENIUS!

They brought fabric markers for the kids to write with and I am telling you it was a HIT!
The onsies fit the Build-A-Bears PERFECT!
They had so much fun personalizing the t-shirts for their stuffed friend. I LOVE this idea if you can't tell. :) Thanks so much Kelli, Kayla and family for having us to such a fun birthday!

The kiddos all lined up to get started with the fun!

They had so much fun cleaning the bears.

Here is the adorable onesie. It looked super cute all decorated.

Kayla and Jaedyn= Best Friends Forever!

Kayla deciding what to do with her shirt.

She ended up writing her name so nicely!

My daughter ( with a wee bit of chocolate on her face) is loving this!

After they were all done with everything they were busy ........ Making Wishes.....

Happy Monday Everyone!

{Family} First Day of Kindergarten for Little Jbug

Ever since the day I gave birth to my daughter people always told me to "cherish the moments because time flies so fast". I cannot agree with them more. It seems like yesterday that she was just starting preschool at the school where I work. This year my daughter, Jaedyn started Kindergarten. She was so excited to meet new friends and go to the "big school". Her cousins attend the same school and her aunt is a first grade teacher there, so it is extra fun for her to run into them during the day. We picked out a perfect little outfit for her to wear and made a little sign so we could remember the exact date that she started her "big school". We did a fun little photo shoot outside our house before we left that day. Here she is posing with the sign.

Once we got to school, it was fun for her to look around at her new surroundings. We were approached by the Arizona Republic and they took a few photos of us. We were told they would be in the paper on that Wednesday, but when I went to buy it, we were not in it. But, that is okay ;P hehe.

While waiting for the doors to open, she got a little bit sad, but it soon turned around when we finally go to go in and see the class!

She found her name on the wall outside of her classroom.

When we went in the classroom, she found her spot and sat down. She looked around smiling for about five minutes before I finally left. When she got home that day she said " mom, I didn't get in red today ( which means she was a good listener") WEW! I am so glad she listened and had fun. I am so excited for her new adventures. I vaguely remember Kindergarten, but I know that I had a blast!

{ Party Design } Mermaid Under The Sea- My daughter turned 5!

WOO HOO!! I have been so excited to show you all this party. I planned this party for my daughter's 5th birthday. She wanted something "Mermaid" or something that had to do with the sea. So, we went with "Mermaid Under the Sea". Perfect, right? I immediately was excited to plan the party to show off some fun decoration ideas and some cute printables. I have been a graphic designer for over six years, so the idea of designing a party is right up my alley.

I started out by creating the color scheme. We went with purple, blue and lime green. This way we could coordinate with everything else while we planned the rest. I created some cute chevron labels and a cute mermaid with a chevron patterned tail.

One Idea I liked alot was the mason jars filled with sand and a photo from each year since my daughter was born, so we ended up with five!

We called upon our expert friends from Martha Stewarts, Dreamers Into Doers and we got together some of the finest party supplies that one can get! It was amazing! My daughter was dressed up in a custom mermaid tutu and matching bracelet. ( Atutudes Handmade Tutus and The Lucky Elephant)

The table was set up with a beach theme in mind. I know the party was "mermaid", but we went a little more with the "under the sea" part of the party.

We had cake pops and Sand castle lollipops inside of sand buckets. We also had a cupcake tower of cupcakes with my favorite umbrella toothpicks. Our cupcakes were decorated with detailed fondant and gum paste sea shells. Six of the cupcakes spelled out my daughter's name ( Jaedyn ) with fondant letters inside of clam shells. These amazing creations were by a local friend, Nikki from Tradewind Tiaras! She is out of this world when it comes to details.
Octopus Cake Pops by Cake Pop Fusion were a HUGE hit! The kids kept asking if they could have another one.
Custom grape sunblock was created by Moodylicious Skincare. This was a wonderful favor for the party bags and if a friend forgot sunblock, we had some on hand. They LOVED the grape scent.
These are the pressed sugar fruit punch flavored sand castle pops. The kids went gaga over these! Aren't they amazing? These are by the fabulous Nikki with Tradewind Tiaras as well.
These were such pretty cookies, I didn't want anyone to eat them. hehe. But, when they did eat them, they were sure glad that they did because they taste as good as they looked.

The favors were in a wooden treasure chest. This was fun for them when they were leaving to dig in for the treasures.
Favors included cookies by The Sweetest Thing ( photo to come), sunblock by Moodylicious SkinCare, and Soap by Bugs and Bubbles Soap Company.
These were stunning sea shell cookies that matched the decor perfectly!

Custom colored and custom scented sea shell soaps.

We had a ton of fun planning this party. We have some more photos coming soon. This is a little preview. Thanks for checking it out!
